Die Supermarine Spitfire ist ein einmotoriges einsitziges Jagdflugzeug des britischen Herstellers Supermarine Aviation Works (Vickers) Ltd, später Supermarine Division of Vickers-Armstrongs (Aircraft) Ltd. Die Spitfire wurde von der britischen Royal Air Force und von vielen Alliierten während des zweiten Weltkriegs genutzt.
Die Spitfire wurde in vielen verschieden Versionen gebaut mit diversen Tragflächen-, Motoren- und Propellerkonfigurationen. Eine Version war die trägergestützte Marineversion Seafire. Die Gesamtproduktionszahlen setzen sich aus 20334 Spitfire und 2556 Seafire in allen Versionen zusammen. Es ist das meistgebaute britische Flugzeug.
