The Fairey Gannet is a single-engine three-seat carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft produced by the British manufacturer Fairey Aviation Company Limited. The Gannet served also as a airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft.
The Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba engine is essentially a pair of two single Mambas mounted side-by-side driving contra-rotating propellers through a common gearbox.
