The AVRO 696 Shackleton is a four-engine long-range maritime patrol aircraft produced by the British manufacturer AVRO, A.V. Roe and Company. The Shackleton was also used as an Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft.
The AVRO Shackleton was developed on base of the AVRO 694 Lincoln. The sole export customer was South Africa. Series 3 (MR.3 phase 2) Shackleton were equipped with 2 additional Rolls-Royce Viper 203 Turbojet Engines.
