The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine military transport aircraft with a maximum payload of 19000 kg / 42000 lbs produced by the US-American manufacturer Lockheed Corporation, today Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. The Lockheed L-100 Hercules is the civilian variant. The C-130 is also used as a gunship, for electronic warfare, search- and rescue, firefighting, aerial refueling, maritime patrol and weather reconaissance.

The maximum payload of the current production model C-130J is 19958 kg (44000 lbs). The C-130 is still in production. Until today more than 2300 were produced.
