The Nanchang Q-5 / A-5 Fantan is a twin-engined single-seat fighter bomber aircraft produced by the Chinese manufacturer China Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation. Q-5 (Qiangji-5 / Qiang-5) is a designation for aircraft in service with the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force. A-5 is the export variant.
The Nanchang Q-5 is a development of the Shenyang J-6, a Chinese-built variant of the Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-19.
